Port Stephens is a blue water wonderland that's only 40 mins from Newcastle and 2 hours from Sydney. It is a mecca for boating enthusiasts, bush walkers, golfers, scuba divers, in fact anyone just wanting to get away from it all.

The harbour is two and a half times the volume of Sydney Harbour with sparkling, unpolluted waters, sandy beaches and access to the Myall Lakes.

The national attributes of the area are legendary with Tomaree National Park literally abuzz with 230 bird species and 48 mammal species and 38 reptiles.

There are more than 650 plant species and throughout each year at least 200 different wildflowers come to bloom.

At the end of October, Christmas Bush puts on a show of cream flowers and by December they are a blaze of red.

The bottle nose dolphins are another big attraction, their graceful presence in the bow waves of passing boats are a constant delight. There are about 100 dolphins living in the bay at present.

For fishermen, there are many choices from the tributaries of the Karuah River and the Myall Lakes to rock & beach fishing and offshore.
